NCSHA represents housing finance agencies from every state in the country. AHFC was awarded three highly competitive Program of Excellence Awards at NCSHA’s national conference in Orlando, Fla.

AHFC received three NCSHA Program of Excellence Awards for:

Management Innovation: Operations for retooling its multi-family development application and rating processes to help get safe and quality rental units built faster for Alaskans at optimal costs.

Tenant Based Assistance for Former Prisoners Program that identifies and provides low cost housing for former prison inmates to help them re-enter society and reduce their likelihood to reoffend. The program is a cooperative effort between AHFC and the Alaska Department of Corrections and helped more than 70 people in 2012.

Special Needs Housing Grant that helps Alaskans who are homeless and have special needs by expanding long-term housing options. The program expanded in recent years and has helped more than 200 Alaskans at risk of homelessness. On this project, AHFC partners with Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority and Alaska Council on the Homeless.

AHFC CEO/Executive Director Dan Fauske is proud of what these awards say about the AHFC staff. “These awards show we are a leader nationally when it comes to proactively finding solutions and caring for the growing needs in Alaska. It is a testament to the commitment AHFC employees have in opening doors for Alaskans.”
