Delegation Announces Grants to Alaska Programs

Washington D.C. – January 17, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — The Alaska Congressional Delegation is pleased to announce the following grants and contracts awarded to communities in the State of Alaska:

US Department of Housing and Urban Development

  • $450,000 community development block grant to Klawock Cooperative Association. The primary purpose of this grant program is the development of viable Native American communities, including decent housing, a suitable living environment, and economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income.
  • $343,241 community development block grant to the Village of Atmautluak. The primary purpose of this grant program is the development of viable Native American communities, including decent housing, a suitable living environment, and economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income.
  • $13,670,291 to Alaska in Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) grant funding for FY2011
