ANCHORAGE, AK – July 12, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) launched a Facebook contest to encourage Alaskans to upload photos of their pet from today through July 24th. After July 24th, participants will be asked to vote on all of the photographs entered, and the pet with the most votes will be illustrated in the next AHFC television ad.
The contest is part of an integrated marketing strategy that follows the lives of two fictional characters, Jen and Matt, who took the free AHFC HomeChoiceTM class, got a First-Time Homebuyer loan from AHFC, and are enjoying the benefits of owning their own home. One of the benefits include the ability to choose any pet they want, which was a little more difficult to do before they purchased their home.
“This campaign is really reaching out to Alaskans who are potential first-time homebuyers,” said Stacy Schubert, director of governmental affairs and public relations. “We want to make sure that they know about our HomeChoiceTM class because it’s free, open to everyone and provides invaluable information for first-time homebuyers. These are young people who are engaged in social media. They’re a lot more likely to get the message on Facebook instead of traditional media.”
AHFC’s free HomechoiceTM class is offered across the state and gives homebuyers an overview of everything they need to know to make good decisions when buying a house. The class schedule and an online signup form are available at http://www.ahfc.us/workshops.
