Sen. Murkowski Announces Participants in Phase Two of Remote Alaska Communities Energy Efficiency Competition
Alaska, today announced the 13 rural communities selected for targeted technical assistance funding as part of the next phase of the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Remote Alaska Communities Energy Efficiency (RACEE) competition.
An affordable and energy-efficient housing complex accommodating 70 families in the Mountain View neighborhood of East Anchorage opens today. Ridgeline Terrace is the biggest project Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) has constructed since 1998.
“Congratulations to Mr. Richart, a long-time proponent of energy efficiency. As a former employee of Interior Weatherization he has direct knowledge of the importance of energy efficient construction, especially in the Interior. As a builder, he now has an opportunity to work with energy efficiency solutions from day one of construction,” said Bryan Butcher, AHFC executive director/CEO.
