Rural Communities to Get Teacher and Professional Housing – AHFC Awards Nine Grants for...

November 2, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- Nine rural communities have been selected to receive grant funds next year under Alaska Housing Finance Corporation's Teacher, Health Professional & Public Safety Professional housing program.After a competitive review process, applications approved for new construction are for teacher housing in Mountain Village eight units, Unalaska six units, Koyuk two units, Teller four units, Napaskiak eight units, and Huslia two units. Approved for rehabilitation of existing housing units are Tanana two units and Noatak four units.

AHFC Lowers Interest Rates

Anchorage, AK - May 12, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — First-time home buyers and veterans may now qualify for lower interest rates through Alaska Housing Finance Corporation. AHFC announced the lower rates for purchases using its Tax-Exempt First Time Homebuyer, Veterans Tax-Exempt, and Veterans Mortgage Programs. The interest rate, which is calculated daily, was 5% and 5.25% for a 30-year loan for these programs at the time of this announcement. However, depending on income and availability of natural gas, the rate could be further reduced when combined with AHFC’s reductions for low-income borrowers and energy-efficient properties.

AHFC awards $46.8 million to generate more than $70 million of rental housing

Home Energy Rebate Program Kicks Off Today

Anchorage, Friday, May 16, 2008 - Effective today, Alaska Housing Finance Corporation will reimburse homeowners for energy ratings done on their homes, up to $500 per home. Ratings are a prerequisite for Alaskans who wish to participate in the state’s revitalized home energy rebate program.
