ANCHORAGE, AK - August 7, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- When Ryan Debonis from Eagle River received a check for $7,500 from Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) for building to the highest efficiency standard available at time of new construction, 5 Star Plus, he became the 2,000th recipient of a 5 Star Plus rebate. Aside from receiving the rebate Dubonis will benefit from lower energy bills year-round due to more energy efficient construction.

ANCHORAGE, AK - June 5, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Under new program changes adopted by Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC), beginning July 1, 2013, Alaska homeowners participating in the Home Energy Rebate Program for new construction may qualify for a “6 Star” energy rating. The sixth star will be awarded for homes that meet the highest energy rating, and may be rewarded with a $10,000 rebate.

Anchorage, AK - April 27, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development today awarded $915,440 to renew support for a statewide HIV-AIDS housing program administered by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation. The three-year renewal funding is provided under HUD's Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program (HOPWA) program. These supportive housing grants continue critically needed housing and support services to extremely low-income persons living with HIV/AIDs. During each of the next three years, this HUD funding will help provide permanent supportive housing so they can manage their illnesses while receiving critically needed support services.

ANCHORAGE, AK - April 4, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- Effective today, the Rural Alaska Community Action Program, Inc. (RurAL CAP) will assume administration of Alaska Housing Finance Corporation's weatherization program in Anchorage. The Municipality of Anchorage had administered the program for many years. RurAL CAP operates AHFC's weatherization program in western and northern Alaska and the city and borough of Juneau. In 2010, RurAL CAP weatherized 309 homes in 10 communities.

Juneau, AKL - January 13, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Governor Sean Parnell today transmitted legislation to renew the Veterans Mortgage Loan program. If passed by the Legislature, voters in the 2010 general election would be asked to approve $800 million of state-guaranteed bonds. The bonds would be issued by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation for the purchase of mortgage loans made to qualifying military veterans.
